It was 1985, and I was a freshmen in college. I was sitting in a theater, watching The Breakfast Club. The movie had just started, and rather unexpectedly these words on the screen. I read them. Again. And again. I would never be the same.
I was going through some serious changes, because life was starting to get serious. My high school had only about 500 people. The college I was attending had over 35,000 students. I was overwhelmed and disconnected.
Suddenly, irrevocably, things mattered.
I saw these words, and I felt better about myself. I recognized what I was going through. Changes. Everything would be alright, eventually.
